Esthetic biological contour concept proper emergence profile design supports esthetic outcomes and provides favorable biological response to implant-supported restorations. Following the “Esthetical Biological Contour Concept” (EBC), the development of natural-looking emergence profiles will comply with the functional, biological, and esthetic requirements with immediately loaded implants and a fully digital workflow.
The impact of a conical connection with integrated platform shift on the emergence profile and 3D positioning of the implant will be equally addressed.
All these pre-conditions for the high predictability and long-term stability of the implant facilitate the guided approach, the options of digital data registration and CAD/CAM technologies. This content will be explained based on scientific evidence and step-by-step visualization of the treatment steps implemented in a daily dental treatment.
Dr. Ramon Gómez Meda received his degree in dentistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He was the recipient of the Thesis Award from the Autonomous Community of Galicia for Academic Excellence. He performed his postgraduate training in Periodontics and Implantology in Madrid, Occlusion and Temporomandibular Dysfunction in Valencia and Orthodontics in Santiago de Compostela.
